KDE on CD-ROM
The official KDE packages will always be available to
download for free from the KDE FTP site.
However, if your bandwidth is limited or you just like a permanent copy,
there are ways to get KDE on CD-ROM.
In addition to the name and URL, each listing will also give a typical
price range (all prices approximate) for the product and whether or
not part of the profits are donated back to the KDE project. Each
listing will also have a brief description of the service.
Note: The KDE Project has no control over any of these
services. They are provided here only for your convenience. Any
complaints or congratulations should go directly to the service
provider.

This is a typical way of receiving KDE on CD-ROM. The advantage of
using the version that comes with your distribution is that you are
fairly certain that it will be setup to handle your distribution's
particular directory structure, etc. The disadvantage is that you
will likely have to wait a few months for your distribution to catch
up with the latest version of KDE.
Some distributions (SUSE and Mandriva, etc) contribute
back to the KDE Project in many small as well as very large ways.
This includes paid developers, hardware, misc expenses, and more.
